Sparkles big & small

From flash sales to annually anticipated offers like Black Friday… how do you market percentage sales when it’s only the % that’s changing?

Some would say that there are many ways to skin a cat.

But being a strongly pro-cat creative studio, we at Escapist Handbook prefer to say… there are many ways to invoke sparkle.

Sparkle being that shiny, shimmery feeling you get when you are surprised and delighted by something, whether big or small.

“Big OR small” is the key here - I have definitely been in a position where marketing a 10% offer with the same zeal as the 30% offer felt… empty. Clearly, the 30% is the better offer. On top of that, I’d already exhausted every synonym for “exclusive” and “exciting” that I found on WordHippo.com. Can you relate?

So this Monday, let’s look back on moments of sparkle, both big and small, in our lives.

Here are two true moments of sparkle in my own life. The first, when I received a compliment from a stranger at the bus stop on the way to work:

And the second, when my husband proposed to me in a cable car:

Two very different experiences, right?

We don’t get diamond rings every day, true.

But don’t you still recall that one time a stranger paid you a compliment when you hadn’t expected it? Didn’t it make your day and put a bounce in your step?

Sparkle is sparkle, whether big or small. Just identify the right type of sparkle for your offer and throw yourself into invoking it!
